Jesus Night #2

This week I was going to head off to the beach to enjoy my Jesus Night. I was walking down California Avenue and then I felt the urge to go to the bathroom. St. Monica was just to my right so I headed up the church stairs. The door was open and there seemed to something going on inside. Before I could even speak, a man handed me a flyer for the 25^th anniversary Mass for Our Lady of Medjugorje. I was so shocked. I wasn’t really sure how I was going to spend Jesus Night and I was memorizing my speech for speech class that morning so I wasn’t able to attend the 6:30am Mass. I was beyond excited. I wondered how long the service was going to last because we had to spend 2 hours with Jesus. God totally provided because there was an hour long meditation before the mass and then the mass started. I have been praying for some of the members of my group that are here that have their hearts hardened to the Catholic Church because of their experiences with unfaithful Catholics. That day, one of the guys went to Mass for the 2^nd time in his life and some of the people who were walking back from the beach after the two hours were over peeked inside to see what was going on. I have been VERY impressed with St. Monica during my time here. At the Mass they announced that they had 18 men currently in the process of choosing seminaries to enroll in… 18 men from the St. Monica parish alone have decided to commit themselves to Christ! Hearing that was such an inspiration. I left the Mass feeling totally in awe with the wonders that God is able to do in people’s lives. After the two hours my group met back up and we had a prayer and worship.
